Whoops they did it again....
Briefings have taken place at locations in respect of correct delivery methods for drivers, it has come apparent this was a difficult message to put out now volumes are increasing, and the last thing the company need right now is large quantities of carded parcels, so well timed by them!
Not all sites have received the briefing and some site managers have been reluctant to brief the message as instructed and passed it onto one of the FLM's to brief. As long as the buck is passed eh!
The confusion is that an SDC says one thing the HHT another and the site managers saying something completely different.
Pseudo rounds continue to be controversial with high targets and managers not adhering to the agreements on implementation. This has been taken up by the relevant OWG and discussions are taking place. It is frustrating that once a procedure is agreed managers interpret another way.
On that note various meetings are taking place to continue to bring both Reality and Business Express closer together in terms of complete harmonisation.
The TU's are working on implementation of various agreements and procedures hopefully in time for the next NNC on December the 8th.
Pay Parity/Back Pay/implementation of shifts have now all been completed and all payments should have been received to all employees whether weekly or monthly paid.
However overpayments for Night Managers Shift payments has resulted in the company wanting to recoup monies overpaid next month. This has caused some issues and any concerns should be referred back to the Site Manager for clarification or your TU rep.
ACTS have been approached by the company through it's OWG to discuss the implementation of recording of hours for FLM's. Some sites across the business Clock in or manually record hours on a spread sheet or do nothing at all. It seems to be a bone of contention for the company, and we have asked them to go away and present us with the legal and H&S argument so we can recommend a uniform approach.
Saturday working is now up on us and the confusion still surrounds the compulsory Saturday's for Depot Operatives and FLM's in Ex Reality. All we can say is that nothing changes until negotiated, otherwise and what has worked in your location since integration should still remain.
We have spoken to the company to resolve the confusion surrounding this issue and we have agreed to review and discuss this early in the new year. So basically what works in your site should remain the same, and a sensible approach is needed from all employees covered by this agreement.
Rumors of the TU's having 'secret' meetings with the company are unfounded, as stated earlier various OWG's and the central steering committee are continuing to work on moving this company forward in a uniformed approach.
It has also been rumored that the company are going to present it's workforce with a Christmas hamper (Exc Booze) this year... erm!
85000 hits now... Thanks!
